Online Therapy for Youth

Online therapy tailored to the needs of young people. In a familiar space, with the therapist's full engagement and parental involvement.

Online therapy can be an effective and safe form of support for children and young people – provided it is conducted
with appropriate sensitivity, experience, and adult involvement. At PsycheClinic, we understand that young people have different needs than adults – and their ability to concentrate, level of trust, and readiness to work depend on many factors. Therefore, we conduct online sessions with children and teenagers in a way that is natural, relaxed, and adapted to their age and developmental stage. Online therapy for children and youth at our clinic in Warsaw (Bemowo district) allows for real support for young patients – regardless of where they are currently located.

This isn't just working "as with an adult, but through a screen." It's a completely different way of communicating – requiring sensitivity, calmness, and a clear structure.
And that's exactly how we work.

The role of parents in online therapy

When working with children and young people, collaboration with guardians plays a huge role. Right from the initial contact, we establish how the joint arrangements, parental involvement, information sharing, and support for the child outside the session will look. Sometimes, sessions begin together with a parent and then continue individually with the child. Occasionally, separate information sessions with guardians are necessary – it all depends on the needs and situation.

In an atmosphere of understanding and openness, a teenager can look at their emotions, build self-esteem, and develop skills to cope with everyday situations – step by step, at a pace that is right for them.

Below you will find basic information about what online therapy for youth looks like at PsycheClinic.

  • ➤ For children and teenagers who feel more confident in familiar surroundings.
➤ For families living outside of large cities or outside of Poland.
➤ For young patients who would find it difficult to get to the office for health, emotional, or organizational reasons.
➤ For teenagers accustomed to digital communication, for whom the online form is more natural.
➤ For families looking for a flexible form of support without sacrificing the quality of the relationship.

  • ➤ Sessions take place via a secure video platform, without the need to install any software.
➤ The standard session length is 50 minutes, but when working with younger children, we allow for shorter forms – always adapted to their age and ability to concentrate.
➤ The therapist takes care of the structure, atmosphere, and contact – also through play, drawing, and shared screen activities (for younger children).
➤ In the case of adolescents – sessions are conversational, with confidentiality and clearly defined rules of cooperation
    with parents.
➤ All meetings are conducted by experienced PsycheClinic therapists – while maintaining online work standards and taking into account the specifics of therapy for children and adolescents in home and remote settings.

  • ➤ A stable internet connection and a device with a camera (computer, tablet, or phone).
➤ A quiet, private place where the child/teenager feels comfortable.
➤ The possibility that no one else will disturb them during the session (siblings, household noises, pets!).
➤ Readiness to introduce at least the minimum conditions in the home environment that promote focus and safety.

  • Yes – provided that the form of work is adapted to the child's needs and the parent is involved in the therapy. Well-conducted online psychotherapy for children and adolescents can bring equally good results as meetings in the office in Warsaw's Bemowo district – as long as the form of work is consciously chosen to suit the age and needs of the young person. Therapy does not lose its value just because it takes place through a screen. In many cases, it gains – because the child feels more confident, opens up faster, and the meetings become part of a safe routine. For older teenagers, the online form is even preferred – less tense, more natural, allowing them to talk "on their own terms."

  • There are situations where online sessions aren't the best choice. For example, this can be the case for very young children, people who struggle with concentration, sensory processing issues, or those experiencing serious crises. In such cases, we'll discuss whether in-person, hybrid, or other support options are possible. We always act responsibly, choosing the format based not only on preferences but, more importantly, on the real needs of the child and family.
